Is this website from the uk the same way i would study music theory for the categories listed here in the USA?

Pretty much all of what you find on the internet is based on Western music theory, so it’s all the same.
The only differences are sometimes in terminology used, but it’s all becoming more global so it’s best to familiarise yourself with the differences. The main ones you will come across are intervals and notation. Here’s a few examples.
UK / US
Tone = Whole step
Semitone = Half step
Crotchet = 1/4 note
Quaver = 1/8 note
Sextuplet = 1/6th note triplet
