Hi! I see alot about a major and minor pentatonic. I leaned to play alotof gospel songs in the key of g. Which had g c and d as the 1,4,5 chords… So my question is this… Suppose you are playing amazing grace in key of g. Using g major pentatonics obviously. But when the song progresses to a c or d chord, do you also have to switch up and use c and d pentatonic scales or do you just use the g major pentatonics throughout the entire song? Pleas eemail me a response to [removed] Thanks
I’m not sure where you are getting the C# from? I’m guessing you’re thinking about the major scale and not the pentatonic?
We’re talking about the major pentatonics, so for example..
G major pentatonic notes = G, A, B, D, E
C major pentatonic notes = C, D, E, G, A
D major pentatonic notes = D, E, F#, A, B
Put those notes together and they add up to G major scale..
G, A, B, C, D, E, F#
Does that make sense?
