Is there a possibility of you doing a companion “Major Scale Fluency” to compliment your excellent Pentatonic Scale Fluency book? And a way to tie them together? This us important for people like myself who are pursuing the blues and B.B. King in particular who, pioneered the use of both scales in the blues as we all know.
Yes and no. I’ve thought about it and did actually start writing a book about it but I’ve just not had time to finish anything for the last six months. It wouldn’t be quite the same as the minor book because, in my opinion, the scale is used quite differently over major blues and probably focuses more on the chord changes than what we generally do with minor blues. I will get back on it at some point and might even make it a free lesson on the website instead.
If you check out the Rock & Roll soloing lesson, things are a bit more major sounding and uses similar ideas. To be honest, if you grasp what’s going on in that lesson and learn a few major blues licks, combine all the ideas together then you’ll pretty much have a good grip on major blues soloing. As soon as I get time I’ll get on it, at the very least if I can’t get the book done then I’ll start posting some ideas here on the website.
