I’m trying to buy a wah wah pedal for my electric guitar, but do I need to buy one that is the same brand as my amplifier?

And once I have a wah wah pedal, what chord do I need to plug it in?

You can use any Wah wah you like. They won’t all be the same but they will work with any guitar amp. A standard guitar cable will work. No different from using any other guitar pedal.
