Does anyone know the chord progression in Done Somebody Wrong (allman brothers version) using add9 chords? There are just 3 of them that repeat and one of them is the Cadd9 but I can’t remember the other 2.
I just had a quick listen to a live version on Youtube. Sounds like a pretty standard I-IV-V to me. I can’t hear any add 9’s. Is there another version.
Well I guess you could try playing the chords as all add9’s, so in the key of D for example you could try try playing Dadd9, Gadd9, Aadd9. Was it definitely add 9 chords? Dominant 9th would seem to make a bit more sense to me for a bluesy style.
Hi lee yes it was a dominant 9th. Thank you I am just starting to get into these and I didn’t know about 9ths. I have had to take lessons online since Covid19 and it is hard to catch everything when the connection breaks up. Thank you.
No problem
Dom9? That’s pretty good for V!
CFG?
FBC?
GCD?
These are just the I-IV-V progessions containing C.
Which one do you choose? (comment below)
I’m struggling to figure out if your posts are real or spambot? I’ve removed some of them so forgive me if I’m wrong, comeback and let me know.
A I-IV-V if F has a Bb, not B.
Lee, thanks for the comment.
thenightbeginstoshine made a mistake as ‘FBC’.
I’m sorry, you flattened it.
I chose ‘FB(b)C’.
Thank you lee. I was learning about 9 chords and my teacher had mentioned that she had learned this song using add 9 chords and it would be good practice. I just couldn’t remember which chords other than the Cadd9. No big deal I just think it is an alternative way of playing it. Thanks again I love the web site, it’s such a great way of grabbing chords, scales, etc that I need quickly!
