I don’t think F major chord can be played as a barre chord on first fret as suggested on p24 at top. It can be played on fret 1 but not as a barre chord. Apologies if Iam wrong.

I checked the page and can’t see a problem.
You can definitely play an F barre at the first fret so maybe I’m not quite getting your point. Can you give me more detail?
