Hello, I wanted to know about Jazz Melodic Minor in 5 positions, could you explain about that?

I don’t really know much about it. It’s basically, from what I can tell, nothing more than the melodic minor scale given another name (jazz minor) – pointless in my opinion.
Years ago the melodic minor scale was used for ascending in pitch and the natural minor for descending. These days musicians tend to use the two scales independently so the melodic minor is basically the major scale with a flat third.
More about this here.
Five positions of the melodic minor can be found here.
